Jon Orszag’s dispute with FTI Consulting stems from a “secret” agreement the consultancy had with an undisclosed client that kept its Compass Lexecon subsidiary from taking on a significant case. That’s according to Orszag, who published emails on Friday purporting to show his efforts to share with Compass Lexecon staff a significant loss in business from FTI’s claims of a client conflict that is ultimately “non-existent”. Orszag says he cannot start a competing antitrust consultancy because of FTI’s ongoing efforts to “bury” him in litigation.
